Beauty Review: Laneige Water Sleeping Pack EX

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  After being out of school for 4 days, going back to work today was rough, but I made it through. We get another holiday on Wednesday, so YAY!

Today, I’m going to be reviewing the Laneige Water Sleeping Pack EX. I don’t know what it is with these Korean products and the million year long names, but alas.

The Laneige Water Sleeping Pack EX is about 25,000W at Aritaum. It’s one of the best selling items from Laneige, and has won numerous awards since its inception in 2011. In Korea, a ‘pack’ is basically another word for mask, so this is basically the Laneiege Water Sleeping mask. It’s packaged in a very sturdy and sleek hard plastic container, and it comes with a spatula for application. It’s also alcohol free and contains snow water from the Himalayas. So yeah…fancy shit.

The product is light blue in color, slightly translucent, and has the consistency of a runny gel. Gels and gel-creams are by far my favorite type of texture for a moisturizer. It’s lightly scented with Laneige’s patented Sleepscent, but it’s thankfully not too overwhelming. It’s actually quite soothing.

The Laneige Water Sleeping Pack EX is meant to be used 1 to 2 a week, although many people use it much more frequently than that. I personally use it around 4 times a week. My skin is already pretty dry, and this summer I slept with the air conditioner and fan on, so my skin was even drier than normal at night. Winter is coming (crying forever), which means dry skin central, so I may just start using it nightly. You can use this product alone directly after you wash your face, or you can layer it after your toner, serum, and moisturizer.

There are many claims for this product, including skin brightening and damage repair, but by far the main purpose is for extreme hydration. When I wake up in the morning, my skin looks smooth, refreshed and healthy, without the greasy film that some other night creams and masks leave behind. I didn’t notice any changes in my skin texture, but my skin looks like I’ve slept 12 hours when I wake up. It’s radiant! After using it for over 2 months, I haven’t experienced any breakouts, so that’s another huge plus.

To apply, use the spatula (or clean hands!), and apply a pea sized amount of product to your forehead, the tip of your nose, cheeks, and chin. Lightly massage it into the skin, until it is fully absorbed. You may experience a very slight stickiness before it dries completely, but it’s nothing major. You don’t need to use too much, and depending on how often you use it, the container should last you anywhere from 3 to 6 months.

I think that people who have dry skin or are in need of a little extra TLC would find it quite helpful. If you’re on acne medication or using a product that is especially drying, this would be the perfect supplement to keep your skin looking its best. Like I’ve said a billion times, proper hydration of your skin is the key to everything! And as you can see, I’m almost finished with it and I definitely plan on repurchasing.
