I think it’s a known fact at this point that su:m37 is pretty much my holy grail skincare line. Every single thing I’ve tried from the brand has been magically fantastic, and the Water-full Rebalancing Gel Lotion is no exception. Like all the other su:m37 products I bought, I got them at Lotte Department store while I still living in Korea. The saleswoman gave me a sample of it when I bought my first rose miracle stick cleanser, and I loved it so much I went out and bought the full size.
I don’t know what it is about fermented ingredients, but they seem to get along really well with my skin. Since a big chunk of my skincare routine is now s:um37, I’ve noticed that my skin is even, bright, and breakout free. I think that’s why su:m37 and I are like BFFs, since their whole thing is fermented skincare. Notable ingredients of the Water-full Balancing Gel Lotion are fermented bamboo sap extract, fermented red clover extract, fermented hibiscus flower extract, fermented snow lotus extract, and fermented fruit water. Doesn’t it just sound like a magical fairy potion?!
Sadly, this bottle isn’t travel safe, as it’s made of glass and is sort of heavy. It contains 120ml of product, and looks uber chic and gorgeous displayed in your bathroom. The full size bottle comes with a pump, and all you need is 1 to 2 pumps to over your whole face.
The Water-full Rebalancing Gel lotion is an emulsion, so it is applied before your eye cream and regular cream, but after your toner, serum and/or essence. The texture of this particular emulsion is my favorite thing EVER. If you live in a hot, humid climate, this is like, holy grail moisturizer. One of my biggest summer pet peeves is feeling like your moisturizer hasn’t absorbed completely and is just sitting on top of your skin, sweating into your eyes. It’s the worst. But luckily this product has a light gel/water consistency, that immediately turns into magic water when you rub it between your hands and apply it to your face. And then it absorbs immediately. Like…instantly. And not only that, it’s incredibly hydrating! And crazy lightweight! I don’t understand how it works, but I’m not complaining.
It’s not sticky whatsoever, and it leaves your skin with a nice semi-matte finish. It has a pleasant, clean scent, but don’t worry, su:m37 doesn’t use artificial fragrances, so any scent is from all of the natural fermented goodness. It’s the absolute perfect emulsion for summer because it doesn’t even feel like you have moisturizer on, but your skin is instantly hydrated. As someone who still gets crazy dry patches on my forehead if I don’t moisturize properly, it’s a godsend.
Now, there is a negative. It’s a tad pricey. I can’t remember exactly, but I think I paid about 45,000W for it (EDIT: I just found the box while going through my stash and it was 53,000W). Judging by how little you can use each day, I’d say one bottle would probably last 2 to 3 months. When I bought it, she gave a TON of samples and the samples actually lasted a little over a month, so I haven’t even put in a dent in the full size bottle. So if you can’t splurge on the full bottle, try to find someone who sells samples and get your life!
The su:m37 Water-Full Rebalancing Gel Lotion is available on Sokoglam for $57.
