Cosrx BHA Blackhead Cream Review

So I’m the opposite of most people. I impulsively buy something and then go home afterwards to read reviews. You gotta live life on the wild side, right? So when I went to the Cosmobeaute expo in Ho Chi Minh City around April of this year, I made a beeline for the cosrx booth and bought the cosrx BHA Power Blackhead Cream without even thinking twice. We all know how I feel about the BHA liquid, so obviously the cream seemed like a perfect choice.

Until I got home and read some reviews – “Meh.” “It’s fine.” “It’s okay.”

I used it maybe 3 or 4 times before I dropped it back into my stash. It wasn’t that I didn’t like it, but I think I allowed reading other reviews to cloud my judgement. But a couple of months ago in ran out of my nighttime moisturizer and needed a new option. I went “shopping” through my stash and thought I’d give the cosrx cream another shot.

And I am so glad that I did. The cosrx BHA Blackhead Power is my new holy grail night cream. It’s incredible. SO MUCH LOVE.

The ingredients for the cosrx Blackhead Power Cream are:

Betaine Salicylate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Panthenol, Dimethicone, Betaine, BeesWax, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Elaeis Guineensis(Palm) Oil, Elaeis Guineensis(Palm) Kernel Oil, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Niacinmide, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate / Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hydroxide, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil.

The BHA in this product is betaine salicylate, which I prefer over salicylic acid. Bless. It’s packaged in an aluminum tube, containing 50mL of product. The top has one of those poker things that help you to open the tube, but you have to be careful to not squeeze too hard or else you’ll end up with way too much product.

It has a gorgeous scent with hints of tea tree oil. If you’re not a fan of tea tree, don’t worry, the scent dissipates quickly. It reminds me of a fancy ass spa where they serve you cucumber water and shit.

The texture of the cosrx BHA cream is probably one of my favorites. It’s thick, but glides easily across the skin and absorbs into the skin quickly. It has a very silky texture, probably due to the dimethicone. I have oily/combination skin, and this doesn’t cause me to break out and it doesn’t clog my pores. I personally believe it could suit all skin types, but YMMV.

To use, apply a small, dime sized amount for your entire face. You can apply slightly more than this for more of a sleeping pack type situation but it does get sticky if you use too much. I apply it as the last step of my nighttime routine, after my serum or sheet mask. I don’t use it in the daytime as I feel it’s a tad too heavy, and I lean towards lightweight watery moisturizers for the daytime. If you have dry skin, you probably could use it both day and night.

All of the claims that are stated on the front of the packaging are true. Whenever I use the cosrx Blackhead Power Cream, I always wake up with silky soft, bright, and radiant skin. When it’s that time of the month and my skin flares up a bit around my chin, it definitely takes away the redness from any breakouts, and helps to clear them up faster as well. I don’t really get blackheads so I can’t vouch for that particular claim, but it balances my skin and keeps it constantly looking bomb as fuck. I love it so much that I cut open the tube to scrape the last bit of it out. It’s that great. I’ve already reordered it, and will continue to for a considerable time to come.

In short, buy this and get your life. Thank me later girl!
