The Best Korean CC Creams Reviewed
1. Erborian CC Creme
This CC Cream is fully loaded with a ton of beneficial ingredients, like Vitamin E and Honey. The vitamin E combined with SPF 25 packs a defensive punch against the sun.
Like many people, we’ve been more conscious of the environmental impact of our beauty products, so it’s great to know that this CC Cream is cruelty-free, and has no sulfates or parabens.
Additionally, the Erborian CC Creme blurs imperfections and hydrates skin, so it doesn’t feel like it’s dry and cracking. It has a lightweight feel to it. The matte finish helps to keep oil at bay. It also doubles as an anti-wrinkle treatment; we love products that do so much work for our skin.
It’s a hot seller at a great price and comes in two shades that can blend seamlessly with a variety of skin tones and types.
2. Banila Co It Radiant CC Cream
Banila is back at it again – they hit global fame with their Clean it Zero 3-in-1 Cleansing Balm, and we think they might have done it again. The Banila Co It Radiant CC Cream is a great product if you want a more natural glow from within.
The 30 SPF is fantastic for sun protection, and it’s been clinically tested against UVA and UVB rays so you can wear this with confidence. One of the great parts of this product is that it also works as a base for foundation, for a fuller coverage look.
What’s more, it’s also doing good for the environment as one of the main benefits of CC Creams is the need for more products is eliminated. Yay for less waste! Plus, it’s paraben-, sulfate-, and phthalate-free and doesn’t contain any animal-derived ingredients.
It truly fits the bill of a one-size-fits-all kind of product. Plus, with the small compact size, you can bring it everywhere to touch up your skin and reapply later in the day.
3. Etude House Correct and Care CC Cream
This is a light coverage product that’s easy to use for daily wear. It has SPF 30, so it can be used as a sunscreen underneath a foundation or worn alone to even out the skin tone.
It is an 8-in-1 product that, in addition to sun protection, claims to also help against wrinkles. Although we all wish we could hit pause or rewind on our skin, this can actually help with the appearance of aging!
As it is white in color, it would do best on more fair skin tones but does oxidize to match different skin tones. Despite this, it does come in two shades (1 or 2) that vary slightly by undertone.
It is on the pricier side for a CC Cream, though you get a good amount of product, at 1.3 ounces. As mentioned, one of the negatives is that it is best for more fair skin tones, and in addition can be a little drying for some skin types.
4. Mother Made AquaLight CC Cream
At one of the most expensive options, this Korean CC Cream makes the claims to back ’em up. In addition to the highest sun protection on this list, at SPF 50, this product also offers anti-aging, firming benefits, and wrinkle defense protection.
It’s an orange-scented cream that boasts an ingredient list that includes vitamin E, Blue Marine Complex, and Hyaluronic Acid. The moisturizing and hydrating benefits of Hyaluronic Acid are well researched and known in the skincare world.
It’s formulated for normal, dry, and sensitive skin. It offers lightweight coverage in a range of light to medium skin tones and easily blends into the skin.
Mother Made is a brand that is cruelty-free, paraben-free, and tested by dermatologists. The AquaLight CC Cream can be used alone, after moisturizer, or as a primer for a foundation if fuller coverage is preferred.
5. Rivecowe CC Cream
Here’s another awesome CC Cream with great sun protection (SPF 43) that features some great natural ingredients like Lavender, Rosemary, Thyme, and Chamomile. These ingredients provide additional moisture to the skin, adding an awesome bonus to this color corrector.
It’s a 2-in-1: Skincare and makeup, providing color correcting and anti-aging benefits. The color is white at first, but blends into the skin to match a variety of lighter skin tones. There are no parabens, yet another positive thing for this cc cream.
Users have found it to be easier to use this product underneath the foundation as opposed to sunscreen, and it’s not overly greasy or heavy on the skin. Unfortunately, as with most of the creams on this list, it may not be best for darker complexions. It’s also on the pricier side for the amount of product received, at 1.35 ounces.
6. Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment
If you’ve ever heard of Korean beauty before, there is a really good chance that you have heard of Dr.Jart+, or may have even tried one of their products. With over 800 reviews, this color corrector is definitely a hot pick!
It’s good for all types of skin and covers blemishes and redness while also evening out the skin. There’s SPF 30, so it can work well on its own, and it’s also free from artificial fragrances and colors, alcohol, and a multitude of other skin irritants.
On the downside, this is probably one of the most expensive products on this list, especially given that the travel size only comes in 0.5 ounces for the same price as a lot of other creams on this list. The price is well justified though, as this is one of the top K-beauty brands that has broken through and become quite well known across the globe – and for good reason.
7. Ekel Snail CC Cream
We know – seeing the word ‘snail’ in a beauty product may be surprising to most people, but snail mucus is an ingredient that helps with skin elasticity (hello youthful skin!) That’s what makes this CC cream an absolute winner.
In addition to color correcting, it comes with SPF 50 and has anti-wrinkle benefits. It’s a product that offers a lot more for skincare than coverage and would pair well under a foundation.
It comes in one shade that is fairly light, so works best for fair skin tones. Despite the lack of diversity, it is well received with 4.5 stars and is one of the more affordable products on this list. It comes in a luxurious reflective package, and is a thicker cream when applied but doesn’t appear cakey.
8. It’s Skin Radiant Star CC Cream and Sunscreen
This is a 7-in-1 CC Cream from a lesser-known Korean skincare line, but definitely shouldn’t be looked over. It offers a wide variety of benefits, functioning as a moisturizer, color corrector, wrinkle reducer, and sunscreen (with SPF 36).
Because it does so much, it can be used on its own, or as an excellent primer underneath the foundation for a sturdy base. It’s a long-lasting product that can even make it through a workout.
This product blends into the skin seamlessly, but as it goes on white it would likely be best for fairer skin tones.
It features ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and propolis that help improve the look and feel of a variety of skincare problems, which is great since this cream is best suited for normal, combination, and dry skin. And at 3.4 ounces, you won’t need to restock on it any time soon!
Choosing the Best Korean CC Cream
So now that we’ve gone over some of the products out there, you’re probably asking yourself – how do I choose which one is best for me? Beauty and skincare products are highly personal, so you want to take your time and figure out what works for you. However, there are a few things to keep in mind.
Price is often a top factor when hunting for a new holy grail beauty and skincare product. You want to consider how much product is in the packaging and compare that to the price – two creams could be the same price, but one could be significantly smaller.
You always want to take into consideration the color of the product as it sits on our skin. If the product is too light or dark, then we will be less inclined to wear it and then it will probably sit and collect dust. Read the reviews and check photos to see if the product comes in a color suitable for your skin.
Some additional considerations require a bit of internal reflection. Is it important that your Korean CC Cream is cruelty-free or vegan? Do you have skin that is sensitive to artificial colors or scents? Do you want a product that helps with anti-aging or wrinkles? These are some more questions that you should consider before committing to any beauty product.
While these are some great considerations, they’re not the only ones. Don’t feel too overwhelmed by this, and feel free to do your own research to help personalize your beauty routine and find the right formula for your needs!
As westerners, Korean beauty and skincare might seem a little complicated. We know it can be overwhelming when being introduced to new products, especially ones that do as much as CC Creams.
This list of the best Korean CC Creams will have hopefully given you a good idea of what is out there for all budgets. Now is a great time to take these tips and new information and change up your beauty routine.
