Hello skincare junkies! Today, we’re gonna be reviewing one of the most amazing skincare products available on the planet. The product in question is Biologique Recherche Lotion P50.
Now, before we get into the nitty-gritty of this product, let me tell you that this product is stinky as hell. I mean it smells like straight-up trash. Literally. But it’s straight magic. One can say it’s truly life-changing. That’s why a lot of women from beauty bloggers to makeup artists rave about this product.
I absolutely love this product as well. Now, my makeup looks gorgeous, the acne has disappeared, and my skin, well, it has never been better.
To be honest, I have a heightened sense of smell. But that didn’t stop me from trying this product. And when I tried this, I was instantly hooked. I put it on one night and the next morning I woke up with clear, fresh, and glowing skin.
If you want your best skin ever, then you gotta try this masterpiece as well. And once you do, you’ll be receiving compliments from everyone around you. Not only will it clear your skin, but it will also make it soft, smooth, and glowy. It’s been called Jesus in a bottle for a reason.
It’s true that there are a lot of skincare products that are truly wonderful, but this product is on a whole other level. In this article, you’ll learn everything you need to know about Biologique Recherche Lotion p50.
What Exactly is Biologique Recherche Lotion P50?
Simply put, it’s a multi-functional lotion that exfoliates, balances the pH levels, regulates sebum production, and drenches your skin in hydration. What’s more, it fights acne and treats hyperpigmentation as well. And it also has skin-brightening properties.
This particular formula is best suited for people with normal to oily skin. However, this product has three other versions as well.
- P50V: This formula is loaded with tons of vitamins, and it’s best suited for mature skin.
- P50W: For those with sensitive skin, this milder version is your best bet. It won’t freak out your skin.
- P50 PIGM400: Okay, so this version is specifically formulated to treat hyperpigmentation. It’s definitely the mildest of all the versions. And the scent isn’t that overpowering. That being said, you can still smell the vinegar. But it’s not that bad. Plus, there’s no stinging sensation.
Ingredients
The Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 contains some really effective ingredients. Let’s take a look:
Active Ingredients
- Lactic Acid: If you’re a skincare junkie, then you’ve probably already heard of lactic acid. It’s an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) used in a variety of skincare products. It exfoliates your skin, fades dark spots, improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Upon regular application, you can expect fewer fine lines and acne lesions.
- Niacinamide: When it comes to skin brightening, nothing does it better than niacinamide. It helps increase cell turnover and also protects your skin from environmental stressors. Some studies suggest that it may increase the production of ceramides.
- Salicylic Acid: SA is another magical ingredient that needs no introduction. It’s a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) that sheds dead skin cells, reduces inflammation, and speeds up wound healing. For those suffering from acne, it’s a holy-grail ingredient.
Other ingredients include water, glycerin, vinegar, malic acid, gluconolactone, onion extract, thyme leaf oil, phytic acid, sulfur, horseradish root extract, sodium benzoate, along with a few other ingredients.
How to Use?
As per the directions on the bottle, P50 toner can be used morning and night. It also states that you should apply it with a cotton pad.
Speaking from personal experience, if you’re just getting started with acids, you should start off slow even if the directions state otherwise. Meaning you don’t want to use it every day. You should start by using it only at night 2-3 times a week.
And slowly, you can work your way up to using it every night and eventually twice a day. If you have super sensitive skin, you can soak the cotton pads in water, put a few drops on the cotton pad, and then apply it.
You can directly press the product into your skin with your fingertips as well. At least, that’s the way I use it now. And I use it twice every day. After that, wait for 20-30 minutes for the product to work its magic and then you can move onto the next step of your skincare routine.
Upon application, you may feel a burning sensation. And it might stay this way for the first few uses. But eventually, your skin will get used to it and that burning sensation will go away.
Do note that if you’re new to acids, your skin may start purging. Skin purging is a reaction to an active ingredient that increases the cell turnover rate. As a result, your skin starts shedding dead cells faster than usual to reveal clearer skin.
However, this process can trigger all kinds of acne such as blackheads, whiteheads, cysts, and whatnot. And trust me, it is fine.
At the same time, it’s imperative that you understand the difference between purging and breakouts. If you have breakouts in areas where you usually breakout, then it’s purging.
On the other hand, if you’re breaking out in new areas where you normally don’t, then it’s a bad reaction to the product. And it’s highly likely that you’re allergic to the product. In that case, you should stop using the product altogether.

The Results
Well, here comes the most exciting part. After using the Lotion P50, I can definitively say that my skin looks brighter, more balanced, and much better than before. It has improved my skin in every possible way.
My skin does not break out anymore. It looks brighter and more even. And it’s soft and smooth just like a baby. There are no blackheads or whiteheads. Those ugly acne scars have faded to the point where they don’t bother me anymore. My skin doesn’t get too oily anymore. And it looks glowy.
As for the pores, I did notice some improvement but it’s not much. Hopefully, it will get better with regular application. Needless to say, this lotion has helped me get my best skin ever. Honestly, it has changed my life. I’m very much happy with the results.
Surprisingly, I’ve also gotten used to the smell. It doesn’t bother me anymore. And I think you’ll get used to it once you start using it regularly.
Pricing
Okay, so this stuff is really expensive. It ranges from $30 (for a small bottle) to $103 (for an 8.5 oz bottle).
Part of the reason why I started using my fingertips to apply the product is that I felt I was wasting too much product using cotton pads. Now, I put 3-4 drops on my palms and then press it into my skin.
That said, it’s really long-lasting. A single bottle will last you months. It will last even longer if you use your hands instead of cotton pads. The largest bottle provides the best value for money.
Is it Worth the Price?
Sure, Biologique Recherche Lotion is expensive as hell, but it’s totally worth it. All things considered. Since the large bottle can last more than 6 months, I’d say it’s a good investment.
Where to Buy Biologique Recherche Lotion P50?
Buying this lotion can be a little tricky. It’s not readily available for purchase on major online retailers like Sephora, Ulta, etc. However, you can buy it from Shop Rescue Spa and Aida Bicaj. My experience with Shop Rescue Spa was amazing and I highly recommend them.
But you’ll need to create an account with them in order to make a purchase. The good news? It’s also available on Amazon, so you can always buy it from there.
The Final Verdict
To say that I love Lotion P50 would be an understatement. It’s one of the best products that I’ve ever tried. I mean, it doesn’t look good, it doesn’t smell good, but it works. It was made to work.
You’ll get brighter and glowing skin only after a couple of uses. And trust me, you’re gonna love this product. Which skincare product has done wonders for you? Let me know in the comments below.
