SU:M37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick Review

Okay. So honestly just go ahead and take out your credit cards (or head to the nearest department store if you live in Korea) because the SU:M37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick is the BEST THING EVER.

Charlotte from Sokoglam was recently in Seoul and we had a lovely dinner together, of course chatting about all things beauty. We were swapping stories about our favorite beauty buys, when she told me about her holy grail cleanser, the SU:M37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick. I’m such a sucker for people’s recommendations, and after reading one review about it on my phone, I set out the next day to find it. I mean really, rose… miracle… STICK?! It sounds magical. And it IS magical.

SU:M37 is a luxury brand in Korea owned by LG. It specializes in naturally fermented skincare, with natural ingredients, completely free of artificial fragrances, colors, and synthetic preservatives. SU:M represents the Korean word for respiration or breath, and 37 refers to the temperature of optimal fermentation. Basically, it’s amazing, and even though it’s a high end brand, the products actually have a pretty decent price point.

Okay, anyway, so the SU:M37 Miracle Rose Cleansing stick has completely blown me away. I’m constantly testing new products, and am impressed by a lot of the things I try, but this cleanser has seriously exceeded all of my expectations. I’ve literally been telling everyone about it. I’m not one of those people who likes to keep my amazing beauty finds a secret…once I fall in love with something I want to sing about it from the top of a mountain. I e-mailed Kerry from Skin and Tonics, I sent a mass kakao message to my friends in Korea, and I even took it with me when I went out clubbing the other night so my friends could see it. It’s INCREDIBLE.

It’s made from 90% natural ingredients, including fermented damask rose extract, rose water, orange peel oil, lemon peel oil, green tea seed oil, olive oil, coconut oil (basically every oil ever). It even has little bits of rose petals in it, taking it up a notch from regular ol’ cleanser to a luxurious cleansing experience. It’s also hypoallergenic, and since it’s made with natural ingredients, it’s suitable for all skin types, including those with sensitive skin. I mean, honestly, fermented damask rose extract just sounds like something I want to put on my face everyday. Insert hair flip emoji here.

It smells absolutely amazing, exactly like a bouquet of fresh cut roses. Once you rinse it off, the smell doesn’t linger, but I sort of wish it did. It just smells so luxe and glamorous. I’m actually excited to wash my face at night (…sometimes my nighttime routine is a bit of a chore, but this makes it worth it). The packaging is also wonderful. Since it’s a solid cleanser, it’s the perfect choice for people who travel often, or for those who want something to throw in their gym bag, or really..just for everyone. You don’t have to worry about spills or any mess whatsoever.

When I went to the SU:M37 counter, the woman advised that this does not take off makeup completely, and told me that I still need to use a makeup remover (aka oil cleanser) first, then use this as my second cleanser. To use, wet your face, turn the bottom of the tube counterclockwise  so about 1cm is sticking out, and lightly massage the stick into your skin. It lathers into a lush, rich foam immediately, the rose petals slightly exfoliate the skin. The foam feels incredibly silky and smooth, much like a cashmere sweater. It really does feel like a spa experience. Once you’ve sufficiently massaged the cleanser into your skin, rinse off with lukewarm water and pat dry. Then look at yourself in the mirror and marvel and how bright, smooth, and glowy your skin looks. You can even massage the stick into your skin, then use your fingers to give yourself a little extra massage, and get into the smaller areas of your face, like around your nose.  I’ve even taken it a step further and massaged the stick into my skin, and used my Clarisonic Mia2 while the cleanser is still on my face. GASP. Religious experience to be honest.

The SU:M37 Miracle Rose Cleansing stick manages to completely clean your skin, without drying or stripping precious moisture. It also leaves my skin noticeably brighter and smoother, and really, it’s just the perfect cleanser. There’s just something about using such a luxurious and indulgent product that makes me feel happy about everything. I used it the first day and loved it so much I went back the very next day to purchase another stick (and some other things from the brand….).  It’s that serious. And people in Korea seem to love it because I actually had to go to 3 different department stores to find it. It’s sold out everywhere!

EDIT: SU:M37 is a high end brand that is available at most department stores in S. Korea. I got mine at a Lotte Department store in Sunae, but most Hyundai, Shinsegae, and Lotte department stores should carry the brand. It’ll be on the first floor with the rest of the cosmetics!

In Korea, it’s priced at 28,000W, which is honestly a steal for such a gorgeous product. It photographs small, but the tube is actually quite bigger than I expected, with 76g of product. It is available for purchase on for $36.50, Ebay for $37.00, and for $35.99.

(small note: I actually purchased this cleanser in a limited edition Christmas set (45,000w), that comes with a CHARCOAL MIRACLE STICK CLEANSER (insert a million excited emojis here) that is sadly limited edition, or maybe it’s just seasonal? The charcoal miracle cleansing stick isn’t sold separately in stores, and I can’t find it anywhere online, but if you can get your hands on it, DO IT. It’s going to be so wonderful in Vietnam when my skin is all hot and sweaty)
